About Auntie Fiona Foyer

Fiona Foyer is a passionate storyteller and children’s book author, known for creating imaginative and uplifting stories that spark curiosity and joy in young readers. With a deep love for art and storytelling, she writes and illustrates books that celebrate creativity, diversity, and the magic of childhood. Every illustration is a painting, all handmade by Fiona.
The name Auntie Fiona comes from exactly that Fiona, is an auntie. It began with reading stories for her nephew, who lives on the other side of the world, and every video started the same way: "Hi, this is Auntie Fiona." She expected only a handful of family members to watch but many others found and stayed for the channel too.

The Five Japanese Sisters Series

Fiona and very good friend Yoshie Kachi co write the stories about The Five Japanese Sisters. Wonderful stories about 5 sisters who each have a special ability. The first story, The Five Japanese Sisters, the Meeting of Sakura, their mother Haha, is kidnapped by a dragon. Working together they rescue their mother and in doing so gain another sister, a dragon sister.

The Five Japanese Sisters adventure series will be about the sisters following dragon myths around the world. The second book will be about the sisters travelling to the Okanagan to meet the Ogopogo.

The Five Japanese sisters are written in both English and translated into Japanese, written in the beautiful Kanji alphabet.

Accessibility is Paramount

In a previous life Fiona used to create Easy Read/ Easy English documents for adults with learning disabilities. Easy Read is a way of creating written information so that it is as accessible to as many people as possible. All of Fiona’s books are written following these guidelines, the choice of font, the size and that there isn’t writing on top of any of the pictures.

Listen to Stories on YouTube

Fiona started her YouTube channel for her first nephew, sharing stories for children to enjoy. The channel features a mix of classic tales and Fiona’s own books, making it a wonderful resource for young listeners. Anyone can tune in and experience the magic of storytelling first hand.
